Playdemic will be working on mobile editions of the Lego franchise

TT Games acquires mobile developers Playdemic

TT Games, the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment label, has acquired mobile games outfit Playdemic, based in Wilmslow, UK. TT Games will be putting Playdemic to work on mobile editions of its popular Lego franchise.

Playdemic was formed in 2010 as a Facebook developer, but is now focussed on mobile titles, with a collection of mobile games that have been downloaded more than 50 million times and give the company $50m in revenue. This is crucial, because despite the fact Playdemic will be working mostly on Lego titles in the future, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have said that they’ll continue to support these older games.

This isn’t Playdemic’s first acquisition, either. They were bought up by a social game company, RockYou in 2011, but when RockYou had troubles later that year, Playdemic’s founders bought the company back themselves.
