TT Games to open new UK studio to work on Lego mobile games

Warner Bros-owned developer TT Games has announced the opening of a brand new studio in Brighton.

This new location will be dedicated to developing new Lego titles for mobiles, with Jason Avent taking the role of head of studio for TT Games Brighton. Avent is the co-founder of CRS Racing developer Boss Alien, which he left in April 2016. He became MD of The Trailer Farm in November of the same year, and will keep a position in the firm as non-executive director.

About his new role at TT Games Brighton, he commented: “I love Lego, and I’m thrilled to be able to create new games encompassing all of the wonderful core values of Lego, designed and built from the ground up for mobile. Our new titles will be accessible, exciting and of course packed with the trademark TT Games fun and humour. We have an amazing new team of people in Brighton with a wonderful and unique opportunity to bring Lego to life in a brand-new way.”

TT Games’ MD Tom Stone said: “There is a huge opportunity for Lego games on mobile. We’re extraordinarily fortunate to have acquired Playdemic in 2016 as a specialist in this area, and they’re working on a new Lego title in addition to their phenomenally successful Golf Clash. Now we can grow our capability even further under the leadership of Jason Avent, founder of Boss Alien and creator of CSR Racing. Jason is one of the world’s most experienced and capable developers in this space, with a passionate affinity for Lego and an incredibly exciting vision for the new team.”

No details were given on TT Games Brighton’s first game. Recent rumours pointed at Lego Incredibles 2 and Lego DC Villains being in the works, but it hasn’t been confirmed by Warner Bros.
