New Canadian independent studio developing first title on Microsoft's development framework

Tusk to use XNA

Candian outfit Tusk, founded earlier this year, has revealed details of its first project by announcing it has chosen to develop its game using Microsoft’s XNA.

Founded by a former employee of DICE Canada, the studio opened up in January after an investor stepped up to support the firm.

On the decision to use Microsoft’s tool company president Armando Marini explained: "XNA has shown itself to be an incredibly powerful and flexible foundation to build on. Microsoft may not be announcing how they intend to make money on XNA, but as an industry veteran, I see it plain as day. I think XNA is the dawn of a quiet revolution. I applaud Microsoft for their foresight.

Marini said that the studio is preparing to unveil its first game in the coming weeks. He added: "I think that once people see what we’ve done with this so called community tool, more than a few eye brows will be raised.”
