Studio fails to replicate success of Planetary Annihilation

Uber Entertainment cancels Human Resources Kickstarter

Uber Entertainment has cancelled its crowdfunding campaign for RTS Human Resources after raising less than a third of its $1.4m target.

The team had previously raised $2.2m for its last Kickstarter project Planetary Annihilation in 2012, but was unable to replicate that success with its second game, raising $384,358 before stopping pledges.

In a statement to the 9,326 backers of Human Resources, Uber design director John Comes said the game was on track to fall well short of its goal, and as running the campaign was a full time job for several staff members, it decided to cancel the project.

He added that title as pitched in the Kickstarter was over, but the studio may return to the IP in a different form in future.

“As a small indie, we can’t continue spending time and money focusing on a project that won’t get funded,” said Comes.

“We simply don’t have the human resources. #seewhatididthere.”
