Protothea to launch on Nintendo's new WiiWare service

Ubisoft to publish Indie Game Festival finalist

Ubisoft has picked up a finalist entrant from 2005’s Independent Games Festival for release on Nintendo’s WiiWare digital distribution platform.

Protothea was developed by Argentinian developer Digital Builders, who at the time mentioned that the game had been in full-time development for eight months. Now, three years later, it will be Ubisoft’s first game for the new service.

The game is a vertical shooter controlled with the Wii remote and nunchuck, and boasts ‘dynamic AI’, with multiple weapons and abilities including the potential to slow down time.
