App to increase game accessibility with a database of titles such as eye-controlled and one switch gaming

UK charity launches iPhone app to help disabled

UK charity SpecialEffect has launched an iPhone app to help all young people with disabilities enjoy gaming.

The app is available for free on iTunes, and allows users to keep up to date with the latest game accessibility news and reviews and also offers access to the charity’s database of information on accessible gaming hardware and software.

Articles and reviews on the app features titles that offer eye-control and one-switch gaming.

"Everybody at SpecialEffect is delighted at the SpecialEffect app and would like to say a big thank you to Shane MaCafferty for donating his time and expertise," the charity’s Nick Streeter told gamesindustry.biz.

"We’ve already had some fantastic feedback from gamers, parents and the games industry and feel it will be a great resource to spread awareness about accessible games and the work of SpecialEffect in helping people with disabilities to enjoy games.”

The SpecialEffect app can be found here.
