UK games indies top Guardian tech list

A number of UK game studios have joined the likes of Spotify, Cloud and retailer The Hut in The Guardian’s Tech Media Invest 100 listing.

Whilst the focus of much of the games media remains firmly rooted in the traditional backbone of the industry, The Guardian’s latest rundown has recognised some of the emerging businesses pioneering new monetisation models in the growing casual sector.

Playfish and MindCandy, both of which are London-based social media experts, feature in the list’s top ten.

Elsewhere in the listings there are six other games studios named – competitive online specialists CyberSports, driving studio Eutechnyx, Introversion, Dundee’s Realtime Worlds and fellow studio Splash Damage.
