British writing association to reward best game writer

UK Writers Guild announces video game script award

The Writers Guild of Great Britain has relaunched its yearly prizes for members and added a video game award to the list of gongs.

A ‘Best Videogame Script’ award joins prizes such as Best Original Drama (TV), Best Soap / Series (TV), Best Screenplay (Feature Film) and Best Book.

The awards specifically focus on the quality of the writing, "not the stadard of the production" and are given to the writers themselves – the shortlist is announced in September, and nominations can only be made by members of the guild.

More information about the guild can be found at its official site.
