UK Workshop on Computational Intelligence to see researchers and academics discussing game applications

UKCI 2008 to address intelligent computers in games

The role of intelligence in games will be a topic of conversation at next week’s UK Workshop on Computational Intelligence.

The event covers the developing reserach fields of fuzzy systems, neural networks, machine learning and evolutionary computing, and aims to provide an environment where academics and researchers can discuss not only recent developments but new potential applications of the new research frontiers.

"This is a great event for young researchers from the UK and Europe to network with some of the most eminent researchers working in the field of Computational Intelligence," said Dr Simon Coupland, general chair of the workshop.

"We’re looking forward to discussing a huge range of exciting topics, including intelligence in video games, intelligent analysis of medical images and intelligent solutions to supply chain problems.

"We’re honoured to have one of the world’s leading experts in evolutionary computing, Professor Xin Yao, of the University of Birmingham, giving a talk on his internationally renowned research."

The workshop takes place between September 10th and 12th at De Montfort University Leicester. More information and registration details can be found at the event’s website.
