Up to £1,500 available to UK games businesses that wish to attend May event

UKTI and TIGA offering funds for Nordic Game Conference exhibitors

UK Trade & Investment is offering a helping hand to games firms that want to exhibit at this year’s Nordic Games Conference, providing grants of up to £1,500.

The funding support scheme is part of a partnership with trade body TIGA and will help UK businesses secure a space at this popular event, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.

Developers can apply for these grants by contacting TIGA’s Vanessa Joyce – but be sure to apply before GDC, as demand is expected to be high.

As well as the £1,500, attendees that go to Nordic Game with UKTI and TiGA will also benefit from the pair’s branded space on the expo floor, reception service, a full-page ad in the conference catalogue, a full access pass, a reservation for the Nordic Game Award Gala dinner and more.

"We are very pleased to be working with UK Trade and Investment to enable these businesses to expand their commercial opportunities via the Tradeshow Access Programme," said TIGA CEO Richard Wilson.

"It is essential to help our export-focused UK games businesses make new contacts and pick up valuable development and business expertise by attending top international events like the Nordic Game Conference."

Wilson added that he expects demand for these grants to be "very high indeed" and urged businesses to apply as soon as possible. Interested studios can do so by emailing vanessa@tiga.org.

Nordic Game takes place from May 21st to 23rd in Malmö, Sweden.
