Firms can now get up to £1,800 for funding to attend industry events

UKTI u-turn on games industry event funding

After last year cutting funding that supported UK developer attendance of events like GDC, the UK Trade & Industry department has today beefed up the funding individual companies can apply for.

Detailed released by the organisation today say UK companies can apply for up to£1,800 for up to six events. Studios must agree to attend an event in a different market, as part of the remit to help encourage the trade and export of UK skills contracts and goods.

Events like Game Connection, the various GDCs, Tokyo Game Show and E3 are the kind of shows UKTI expects to help developers attend.
