New game Yamake lets players customise and share minigames

User-generated content comes to N-Gage

Nokia has added to the functionality of its N-Gage distribution platform with a new game based around user-generated content.

Called Yamake (as in, ‘you make’ the game), the title is developed by Nokia Games Publishing and lets players customise a variety of mini games – such as picture puzzles or quizes, with text, pictures sound files and movies incorporated from their handset or PC.

Players can then share their creations via the N-Gage Arena community service, the Yamake community, or via multimedia message between N-Gage and other series 60 mobile handsets.

Dr Mark Ollila, director of technology and strategy and head of games publishing at Nokia, commented: “This is exactly what the future of mobile gaming should be about – creating games that you love and want to play, then sharing them with other players.”
