Vaizey/Watson showdown on Games Question Time

The shadow minister for culture Ed Vaizey is set to face Labour MP and game industry advocate Tom Watson in a Question Time panel-style debate.

Videogames Pre-Election Question Time, will resemble the upcoming prime ministerial debates between Brown, Cameron and Clegg.

The Q&A session, set for March 29th, gives developers a chance to grill MPs about the future of the industry, and are invited to ask questions on a range of topics.

One of the defining battle rounds for the session will undoubtedly be the sensitive issue of game tax breaks, which neither Labour nor the Conservatives appear to be fully backing.

The Liberal Democrats’ Don Foster – MP for Bath and a known game industry sympathiser – will also take part in the debate.

Trade body ELSPA will hold the event at the BAFTA building in London. Attendees can submit a question before the event and will be able to share their views on the night, which kicks off at 7.30pm on March 29.
