Gamepad to be unveiled at GDC in March

Valve’s Steam controller design ‘finished’

Valve has finished the design of its Steam controller and is putting it into production, according to Origin PC CEO Kevin Wasielewski.

Speaking to GameSpot, Wasielewski said after a number of revamps following user feedback, Valve had settled on a final design for the controller and may showcase it during GDC.

He also said that the Steam Machine term was “pretty much dead”, as they are essentially living room PCs.

Wasielewski added further announcements from Valve firm can be expected during the conference.

“They came out with the controller, then they got some user feedback, and they had to revamp it; they got some more user feedback and had to revamp it again,” he said.

“So they went through that like three or four times. And now their controller is finalised. So now they’re going to production and at GDC is when they’re going to announce more stuff."

Earlier this week Valve confirmed it would not be holding another Steam Dev Days conference this year, and instead will be expanding its presence at GDC in March.
