Valkyrie puts players in the cockpit for immersive space dogfights

Video: CCP’s stunning Eve VR tech demo comes to life

CCP is developing a new virtual reality game based in the Eve Online universe.

Called Eve Valkyrie, the title is the fruition of the recently revealed Oculus demo that used assets from Eve Online to create a space dogfighting sim pitting players in the cockpit.

As with previous CCP games, the new title will be a multiplayer game set in the Eve universe.

Valkyrie is expected to be released in 2014.

“From the moment this year’s Fanfest attendees first got their hands on Eve VR, the question has been, ‘When can I have this?’,” said CCP CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson.

“What started as a passion project by a small, incredibly talented group of CCP developers became one of the most highly anticipated games of the year – before we even announced it. We have big plans for Eve: Valkyrie and I can’t wait to share more details later this year.”
