Valve founder talks games, governance and more in one-hour video

VIDEO: Gabe Newell reflects on his career in games

Founder of Valve, Gabe Newell, has reflected on his long career in games development during a lecture at university in the USA.

Newell discussed his views on productivity, economics, political institutions and the future of business, during his talk at the University of Texas at Austin.

The game creator previously worked at Microsoft from 1983 to 1996, before founding Valve, which went on to make some of the most celebrate games ever, such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike.

In the video, he discussed how the lessons he has learned from founding a large company and making governance work both in public and private sectors.
