VIDEO: id Softwareâ??s iPhone tech is mock-Epic

id Software may have fired a new tech race with its age-old rival Epic Games. This time not on PCs, nor consoles, but once-humble mobile devices.

Just days after Epic’s newly announced Infinity Blade was widely praised as the standout graphical showpiece for Apple’s iPhone, Doom developer id has unveiled a challenge to that claim.

Entitled Rage: Mutant Bash TV, the new project is a post-apocalyptic combat game show based around the upcoming FPS Rage.

Carmack himself has been deeply involved in the technology behind the game.
