London Games Festival event to explore online communities

Virtual Worlds Forum plans confirmed

Organisers of the Virtual Worlds Forum have confirmed the schedule for the inaugral pan-European virtual world conference.

The event, which takes place during the London Games Festival on October 24th and 25th, largely comprises of roundtables and conversations between industry professionals such as Dr. Richard Bartle, co-writer of the world’s first MUD and author of the book Designing Virtual Worlds.

Also participating at the event are Thomas Bideaux, director of product development at NCSoft Europe, and Peter Edward, director of the Home Platform Group at Sony Computer Entertainment.

Entropia Universe developer Mindark will be represented by Frank Campbell, while game designer and writer Raph Koster will taking part in the ‘virtual world business models’ panel.
