VooFoo moves to Birmingham as studio expands

Independent UK games studio VooFoo Studios has relocated its office to Birmingham.

Moving away from its Wolverhampton roots, the Big Sky Infinity developer has set up a new bigger office at the Birmingham Science Park, which is also home to a plethora of other tech start-ups.

As part of the relocation, the studio’s technology director Mark Williams told Develop the team of seven is hoping to recruit a senior/lead artist, creative producer and another programmer to increase its headcount to ten.

VooFoo is focused on PS3 and Vita development, and is currently working on a yet-to-be announced new project.

The studio is also looking into working on mobile moving forward, whilst Williams also said its proprietary engine was well-suited for next-generation consoles.

“This is an exciting new chapter in VooFoo’s story,” he said.

“Birmingham Science Park provides us with the central location, technical infrastructure, and space required to enable us to continue our drive to develop great games for this and the next generation of consoles.”

Founded in 2007, VooFoo has developed titles such as Big Sky Infinity, Pure Chess and Hustle Kings.
