Warner Bros pledges $500m for development in UAE

Warner Bros has signed a deal with the Abu Dhabi Media Company and a property developer Aldar to develop various media ventures, including videogames, in the United Arab Emirates region.

According to Gamasutra, Warner Bros is investing $500 million in the project, which will give Warner Bros Home Entertainment the worldwide rights to publish any games created by the fund, which will include both games created with Warner Bros IP and third-party products.

“We look forward to working alongside ALDAR and the Abu Dhabi Media Company to not only create an exciting and unique cultural destination in Abu Dhabi, but to have the opportunity to extend the Warner Bros businesses and brand throughout the region,” said chairman and CEO Barry Meyer.
