Stubbs the Zombie creator opens up a casual development arm

Wideload opens splinter firm

Wideload, the firm behind Hail to the Chimp and Stubbs the Zombie, has created a new satellite studio called Shorts, which will concentrate on shorter, more casual games.

Shorts will be run by former Red Mercury president Scott Corley. The new team will work closely with the parent firm and will share assets on various projects, reported gamesindustry.biz.

"A Wideload retail game may include an asset that would be great to spin off into a Shorts game, and vice versa, a Wideload Shorts game could inspire a Wideload Games retail product," said company president Tom Kang.
