World of Tanks goes live in South Korea

Free-to-play MMO World of Tanks has officially launched in South Korea.

During its recent ‘supertest’ stage in the country, which ran from December 3rd to the 20th, the game garnered more than 60,000 players.

The Wargaming.net-developed title is now available in South Korea alongside the recently unveiled update 8.2.

"It’s a great day for the whole team. World of Tanks has been a huge success globally, and the Supertest in Korea has shown that the game has the brightest prospects in the market," said South Korea operations GM Chankuk Park.

"I’m sure that World of Tanks will be able to gain more and more gamer attention in Korea, thanks to the game’s profoundness both strategically and gameplay-wise."

World of Tanks has expanded greatly in the Asian market during the last year, with Wargaming.net opening offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand.
