Free-to-play title garners 7.5 million downloads

Xbox One gets cross-platform play with Happy Wars

Happy Wars is set to bring cross-platform play when it releases on the Xbox One.

The free-to-play title has garnered 7.5 million downloads since it was released in 2012 on XBLA, and has since also launched on Steam.

During Microsoft’s pre-E3 show it announced Happy Wars was coming to Xbox One, and would offer four-player split-screen local play as well as cross-platform multiplayer.

This would be the first time a game has been made as cross-platform on the Xbox One. Microsoft’s Phil Spencer previously hinted that it may allow cross-platform play on Xbox One in future between console, PC and mobiles.
