Microsoft's next-gen console gets simultaneous release date in 13 territories including UK and North America

Xbox One launches worldwide November 22nd

The Xbox One will launch worldwide on November 22nd.

Microsoft’s next-gen console will be available in 13 territories including the UK, USA, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand and Spain.

The firm’s VP of Xbox marketing Yusuf Mehdi said the company had sold out of its pre-order supply “faster than at any other time in our history”.

He also revealed Microsoft would be making an additional number of Xbox One’s available for pre-order.

The Xbox One launch will compete directly with Sony’s PS4, which is set to release on November 15th in North America, and November 29th in Europe. This puts the Xbox One right in the middle of Sony’s launch dates.

While Microsoft is releasing the Xbox One in 13 territories, Sony is set to launch in 32 different countries.
