Xbox Live avatar studio behind motion sensitive Wii Sports rival

XBOX: Rare creating Kinect Sports

Rare Studios, which has long worked with Microsoft on its stylised Live avatars, has been confirmed today to be working on Kinect Sports – part of a series of casual games conceived for the Xbox 360 motion sensitive device formerly known as Natal.

Rare’s game includes a number of athletic distractions such as beach volleyball, several track and field sports, boxing, bowling, football and table tennis, and clearly apes the iconic model of Wii Sports.

The game of course lets players use customisable avatars, and joins the likes of casual friendly petting romp Kinectimals as an early product for Kinect’s controller free model.
