New edition shown at August's GameFest and includes new networking features

XNA Game Studio version 2.0 on the way

Microsoft is readying an update for its XNA Game Studio software which will be detailed in a session at its developer event GameFest this August.

Discussed briefly in a session description at the event’s official site, v2 of the software will be a "major update" – specifically, the XNA Framework will be augmented to include support for networked games.

The session will mark the technology’s first public showing, and the event as a whole boasts nine tracks (including Xbox Live, Games For Everyone, Visual Arts and Audio) with over 60 talks.

GameFest takes place on August 13th and 14th at the Washington State Convention and Trade Centre in Seattle, Washington.
