Gears of War: Judgment developer now working on Fortnite

People Can Fly renamed Epic Games Poland

Gear of War Judgment developer People Can Fly has been renamed Epic Poland.

In a statement to Pixel Enemy, a company spokesperson said the name change was made to reflect the fact that Epic was one global company.

The studio is currently working on upcoming sandbox survival and tower defence title Fortnite.

“We’ve changed the studio’s name from People Can Fly to Epic Games Poland," said the spokesperson.

"We’re a global company with talented people working toward one goal across the world. We think this helps better reflect that.”

People Can Fly was founded in 2002, and developed titles such as the Painkiller series for PC and Xbox.

In 2007, Epic purchased a majority stake in the studio, which then saw it work on titles such as Gears of War and Bulletstorm, before taking the lead on Gears of War: Judgment.

The latter title was released earlier this year, and garnered an average rating of 79 on meteoritic.
