Final Fantasy XV will have a Season Pass

It seems that the upcoming Final Fantasy XV will be the first entry in the RPG series to have a Season Pass.

This will give those who purchase it access tosix packs of DLC. Final Fantasy XV is not the first entry in the franchise to have post-launch DLC, but it is the first to have a Season Pass.

Square Enix is yet to officially announce this content, but a Digital Premium Edition, including both the game and Season Pass, is available to pre-order on the PlayStation Store in North America for $84.99.

Gamers who already pre-ordered Final Fantasy XV will be able to buy a Season Pass Upgrade – which is listed on the North American PS Store but whose price is currently unknown. In Japan, it costs2.700 – around 19.

The season pass can be pre-ordered, but Square Enix has yet to detail its exact content. All we know are the titles of the DLC, as translated by Gematsu:

  • Booster Pack” (DLC #1)
  • Episode Gladiolus” (DLC #2)
  • Holiday Pack” (DLC #3)
  • Episode Ignis” (DLC #4)
  • Episode Prompto” (DLC #5)
  • Expansion Pack” (DLC #6)

Final Fantasy XV is set to be released on September 30th in the UK. Game director Hajime Tabata recently revealed that the game will need to sell at least 10m units to be a success. In order to do so, Square Enix is doing everything it can to promote the game, including taking over Waterloo Station and launching an anime TV show, a movie and various partnerships.
