World of Tanks is getting a campaign mode, War Stories, next week

Wargaming have announced that popular competitive free-to-play game World of Tanks is getting a campaign mode next week, launching on August 22. This campaign will be called War Stories, with players crashing through historical battles, fantasy campaigns and events set in alternate histories.

The War Stories mode can be played solo, or cooperatively and are launching at the same time as a new tank tutorial, with this content providing a solid backbone that should help players get into the multiplayer game with a few kills under their belt.

World of Tanks is a phenomenally successful game, but there’s definitely a learning curve if you don’t want to get pasted by series veterans.

This single-player content could be the result of the recent partnership Wargaming struck with Splash Damage, but according to the press release is the first in a number of single player campaigns that will be added to the game in the future.

World of Tanks is out now on PS4, Xbox One and PC, with the new content appearing on all formats.
