Hearthstone is now available for smartphones

iPhone and some Android owners are now able to play Hearthstone on their mobile phones.

A universal update to both the iOS and Android versions of the game means it is now compatible with iPhones (4S and beyond) and assorted Android (4.0 minimum) handsets – although support for the latter is model dependent.

The game ties in to the same servers used by existing tablet and PC players, and anyone who signs into their account will find their existing decks, stats and card collection carried over. As per before, progress is stored on the cloud and can be resumed on any device.

The interface has been redesigned for smaller screens, too, while those who play the game on smartphones will be rewarded with a free Classic card pack after their first encounter.

We’re excited to welcome mobile gamers to the Hearthstone community,” Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime said. Hearthstone’s quick, super-accessible gameplay is perfect for gaming on the go, and with the mobile versions it’s incredibly easy to jump into a match and have some fun.”

The third wing of the game’s recent Blackrock Mountain expansion will become available later this week.
