ITV apologies for Arma II "human error"

UK broadcaster ITV has apologised for the erroneous use of a gameplay clip from PC title Arma II in a documentary about Colonel Gaddafi and the IRA.

MCV yesterday reported that the film, called ‘Exposure – Gaddafi and the IRA’ supposedly showed a scene of IRA militants gunning down a helicopter using vehicle-mounted weaponry.

However, the clip was actually sourced from a fan-made Arma II video.

"The events featured in Exposure: Gaddafi and the IRA were genuine but it would appear that during the editing process the correct clip of the 1988 incident was not selected and other footage was mistakenly included in the film by producers,” an ITV statement read.

This was an unfortunate case of human error for which we apologise.”
