Microsoft confirms August 2nd launch for 2TB Xbox One S

The Xbox One S will debut on August 2nd, Microsoft has now confirmed.

That day will only see the launch of the most expensive version, however – the 350 2TB SKU. There’s no word yet on the launch dates of either the 300 1TB model or the 250 500GB machine.

And as you’re a loyal MCV reader you know all of this, of course, as we revealed precisely this last month.

Microsoft announced the Xbox One S at E3. The console is 40 per cent smaller than the current machine. It will support 4K Blu-ray and video streaming, and include a slightly redesigned controller. Furthermore, the power brick has been internalised and the Kinect port has been ditched altogether.

The platform holder has subsequently announced a Kinect cable adapter for a not insignificant $39.99.

As per Microsoft: The 2TB launch edition Xbox One S will be available in limited quantities for $399 USD on August 2 in the following regions: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and United States. Xbox One S will also be hitting store shelves for additional markets later this year.”
