Microsoft cuts US Xbox One price for Christmas

Xbox One will from November 2nd be $50 cheaper in the US.

Microsoft has announced that it is cutting $50 from all Xbox One hardware SKUs from November 2nd until January 3rd.

This means the white Sunset Overdrive bundle will cost $349, the Assassin’s Creed: Unity bundle $349 (or $449 with Kinect) and the 1TB Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare bundle $449.

The deals will be available from Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, Target, Toys R Us, Walmart and Microsoft stores.

The move follows on from last month’s UK price cut that saw the machine reduced to 330. It’s also widely available with pretty much any game for between 345-350.

PS4 is also currently available in the UK for 330. But with Driveclub faltering and only LittleBigPlanet 3 in the way of upcoming exclusives this side of Christmas, Microsoft clearly thinks its line-up – which includes Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive and Halo: The Master Chief Collection – gives it a fighting chance of recouping some lost ground this Q4.

We want this to be an unforgettable holiday season for Xbox fans around the world,” Xbox boss Phil Spencer said. Only on Xbox One can you play some of the most anticipated exclusives, newest blockbuster franchises and innovative independent games of the year. We’re pleased to start the season off early with an incredible portfolio that includes millions of hours of fun for gamers and their friends.”
