EA Director stands down

Director of Electronic Arts Timothy Mott has announced his intention to retire from the company.

Mott will officially leave EA after the Company’s 2008 Annual Meeting of Stockholders on July 31st.

Mott has served on the company’s Board of Directors since 1990. Previously, he was a co-founder and senior VP of the publisher.

Other than in his role as director of EA, Mott has had no operating involvement with the firm since he ceased serving as an executive officer in 1990.

The news follows fellow EA founder Bing Gordon announcing his decision to quit the firm last month. However, Gordon will keep loose ties to the firm as chief creative officer emeritus.
