Call of Duty 6 to be a sci-fi shooter?

Some gamers were surprised to learn recently that this year’s Call of War title (dubbed World at War) will be heading back to WWII – but internet rumours are suggesting an even more radical departure for the next title.

A piece on TalkPlaystation.com (which has since been removed – read into that what you will) claims that an ‘Infinity Ward insider’ has hinted that following this year’s release, next year’s title could be set in the future.

The site quotes the source as saying: We are currently working on a new sci-fi title, we cannot release any more information as of yet, we may or may not announce it at E3."

Treyarch is currently hard at work on World at War, with Infinity Ward, the developers responsible for the fantastically successful Call of duty 4: Modern Warfare, currently building next year’s release for the franchise.

Thanks, CVG.
