Warner reverses Watchmen digital exclusivity plans

Having touted the digital-only release of episodic adventure Watchmen last year as a ‘risky experiment‘, Warner has seemingly had a re-think following its confirmation of a boxed retail release for the game.

Speaking to 1UP, Deadline Games director Sren Lund stated that parts one and two of the episodic game will be bundled onto disc, most likely to coincide with the late July release of the movie on DVD and Blu-ray.

Warner is expected to reveal concrete details shortly.

Whether this means that the Warner’s digital experiment ‘failed’, or that a retail release on the back of the boxed film was deemed a sensible next step, is open to debate.
