Digital reader coming to PSP

A new service called Digital Reader is set to launch on PSP this year.

The service will launch with Digital Comics, which will give consumers the chance to download hundreds of classic and new comics from the PlayStation Store.

Titles including Marvel’s Spider-Man, X-Men and Fantastic Four comics will be made available, alongside Transformers and Star Trek from IDW. The service will also feature brands such as Archie Comics and Image Comic Proof, as well as underground comics and graphic novels.

This is a great new service that offers PSP owners even more options for entertainment on the go and makes PSP a must for comics fans,” explained Sony’s European marketing manger for hardware and platforms. Isabelle Tomatis.

Digital Comics will sit alongside the new PlayStation Network video delivery service as yet another way that PSP offers a whole world of entertainment in your hands.”

Digital Comics will launch in the UK, US, Irish, Australian, New Zealand and South African PlayStation Stores this December, with other territories to follow in 2009. More comics and graphic novels will be released on a monthy basis.
