JAPAN: No Russian edited in MW2

Ahead of its release in the territory tomorrow, it has been revealed that the notorious ‘No Russian’ airport massacre level in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been edited for the Japanese release, according to Kotaku.

Whilst the level is still included in the release, players will now automatically fail the mission if they shoot any civilians. In the unedited version of the game players are not required to shoot civilians, though they are free to do so.

Shooting any of the terrorists, though, will result in game over on both versions.

The changes mirror those made to the game to facilitate its German release.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in Japan on December 10th. It is being published by Square Enix.
