THQ names next Red Faction

The sequel to under-rated sandbox action title Red Faction Guerrilla has finally been made official by publisher THQ.

Called Red Faction Armageddon, the series sticks to its traditional Mars setting, but this time a failure of humanity’s terraforming equipment had forced humanity underground.

Playing as Darius Mason – grandson of Guerrilla’s Alec – gamers will find themselves accidentally raising ancient subterranean inhabitants. Who are in a very bad mood.

The game is due out on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in March 2011.
