Xbox brand tweak at E3

Xbox 360 games will receive a revised front cover as part of Microsoft’s plans for a brief redesign to its standardised box art.

A number of pack shots from upcoming games display a different banner at the top, including Activision’s Singularity and City Interactive’s Sniper Ghost Warrior. This suggests publishers are preparing for an upcoming brand tweak.

A wave of green curves are present at the top-right of the pack shot replacing the standard white space on single-player titles or the Xbox Live logo on multiplayer compatible games.

A spokesperson for Microsoft told MCV: We are excited to share future developments as they come along but we have nothing to share at this time.”

Last week Destructoid pointed out the difference in the box art and compared the green waves with Microsoft’s similarly-designed E3 press invites.

E3 2010 kicks off on June 15th and runs until June 17th. Microsoft has a pre-E3 Natal event scheduled for June 13th and an official press conference on June 14th.
