NGP: COD leads software lineup

Sony’s NGP will be here by the end of the year, and if the games announced today are anything to go by it’s going to be a blockbuster Q4.

Activision’s senior VP of Asia Philip Earl took to the stage in Tokyo this morning to announce what is probably the headline game – Call of Duty. Though specifics were thin on the ground, we were promised an experience that would raise the bar for portable shooters.

Other headline grabbers include Konami’s Metal Gear Solid, Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable and Sega’s Yakuza. Sony titles in the works include Uncharted, Killzone, Resistance, WipEout and Hot Shots Golf. Epic was also present and demoed a version of its Epic Citadel on the device.

Here’s the complete list of announced NGP games:

• Call of Duty
• Uncharted
• Killzone
• Monster Hunter Portable 3
• LittleBigPlanet
• Resistance
• Hot Shots Golf
• WipEout
• Gravity Daze
• Reality Fighters
• Smart As
• Broken
• Little Deviants
• Dynasty Warriors

There were also tech demos of the following:

• Metal Gear Solid 4
• Epic Citadel by Epic Games
• Yakuza 4
• Lost Planet 2
• Dungeon Defenders
