Temple Run 2 hits App Store today – report

An honest-to-goodness sequel for iOS hit Temple run is hours away from arriving on the US and UK App Stores.

Temple Run 2 landed on the New Zealand App Store for free earlier today, and Touch Arcade reports its scheduled to go live in the US tonight. On top of that, forum members of the mobile games news site also suggest a simultaneous release in the UK is planned.

The endless runner sequel was created by the first game’s developer Imangi Studios, though this time around they also received some help from Fuzzycube Software.

The original Temple Run has been one of the most popular free applications (with in-app purchases) on iOS and Android since it debuted, garnering over 100m downloads as of last August, and nearly doubling that number in the months since.
