Twitch appoints new EMEA director of commerce

Twitch has appointed Wargaming.net’s Rahim Attaba as its new director of commerce for the EMEA region, the company has announced. In his new role, Attaba will report to VP of gamer commerce Matt McCloskey and be responsible for growing the platform’s economic activity in EMEA, with a special focus on Twitch Game Commerce, Subscriptions for Partners and Affiliates and Cheering and Bits.

In addition, Attaba will use his background in marketing to help bring more game publishers and developers to Twitch in order to broaden their audiences.

Previously, Attaba was Wargaming.net’s global marketing director of Wargaming Alliance, and led the marketing strategy for third party titles such as Total War: Arena.

He has also worked as head of publishing EMEA at Motiga, where he worked on the global publishing strategy for Gigantic and co-ordinated with Microsoft’s Xbox teams in Europe. He also helped launch Trion World’s MMORPG Rift, and League of Legends in Europe.trion
