2K announces Mafia III

Mafia III has been confirmed by publisher 2K Games, although its full reveal won’t come until Gamescom next week.

All we know for now is that the game is coming and that the first trailer will be released on Wednesday August 5th at 13:00 UK time.

The game will also be shown off behind closed doors at the European expo.

The first Mafia game was released way back in 2002 and developed by Illusion Softworks – which nowadays is known as 2K Czech. Its sequel arrived some eight years later, this time with 2K fully at the helm.

Mafia III is the next installment in the popular series known for immersing players into a world of organised crime through rich narrative storytelling and a beautifully crafted game world featuring period-accurate cars, music and fashion,” 2K said.
