MW3 DLC restricted to one player profile

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 DLC can only be accessed by one player profile per console, forum complaints suggest.UPDATE: Activision aware of ‘unintentional’ problem.

Users may have to purchase Elite content twice if they want to play it under a different profile on their Xbox 360 console – something that wasn’t the case with Modern Warfare 2.

I’ve got Elite on my main profile but not on my second profile. Why is it not allowing me to use the DLC with a second profile on the same 360?” asked forum user Xidorn on the Call of Duty website.

If you think I’m going to pay $50 for each profile on the same console ,that’s ridiculous.”

However, Activision’s terms and conditions state otherwise.

You can use this [DLC] on the first Xbox 360 console you downloaded it to,” it reads. Access to this item will also be granted to all users on this first console."

Activision has since sent MCV the following statement: "We understand that Elite Premium Members on Xbox Live who purchased the latest DLC Content Drop for Modern Warfare 3 are unable to access that content while signed into other profiles on the same console that originally downloaded the content.

"This is unintentional and we will work to get an update out as soon as possible that corrects this issue and allows you to continue to enjoy the new maps."

Thanks, Joystiq.
