Limbo getting PSN release

One of the most celebrated Xbox Live Arcade titles of 2010 is finally spreading its wings onto new platforms.

Developer Playdead has confirmed that puzzle platformer Limbo is due for a digital release on both PS3 and Steam.

Having previously said that the title wouldn’t hit PS3 or PC "this time around", the studio’s CEO Dino Patti told Joystiq: "This might be the second time around we have been waiting for. Limbo is in production for Steam and PSN, and is coming very soon."

The stylish title sees a nameless boy braving a dangerous monochrome land dubbed "the edge of hell" in an effort to rescue his sister.

The game has sold over half a million copies on XBL and was recently named as the 11th best selling game on the service. It carries a current Metacritic average of 90 per cent.
