Avatar Kinect rumoured for CES

A leaked photo from the set of Microsoft’s CES presentation scheduled for 2:30am tomorrow UK time suggests that the platform holder is to unveil a brand new Kinect feature.

Called Avatar Kinect, Winrumours says that the new feature will be offered to Xbox 360 owners via a download on Xbox live. The site alleges that it will allow users to interact with people on their friends list using their avatars.

In a similar way to Nintendo’s Mii Plaza, the action will take place in a dedicated virtual area. It’s said that users will be able to watch content and play games together in the virtual space.

Expect concrete details in the early hours.
