Fitness craze Zumba hits consoles

It’s the latest exercise craze sweeping the country, and 505 Games believes now is the perfect time to launch a Zumba video game.

Zumba Fitness Party debuted on Xbox 360 Kinect last Friday (November 26th), and UK publisher 505 has teamed up with Zumba UK on a range of promotional activity to support the game’s release.

There are over 2,000 Zumba instructors in the UK and classes are running everywhere from gyms to halls,” said senior product manager Juliette Green.

Combining aerobic exercise with Latin dance moves and energetic music, Zumba is more like a party than a fitness regime.

Looking at the number of people who are doing Zumba or those who would like to give it a go, Kinect makes it accessible to everyone and we feel sales will reflect its popularity.”

Worldwide there are some 90,000 Zumba fitness centres in over 110 countries. There are more than ten million participants.
