Sony gives away PS3s

Sony is giving away a PS3, a copy of Gran Turismo 5 and two pairs of 3D glasses with each 3D TV sold.

The deal begins in Sony Centres across the UK today and will run until December 5th or whenever stock sells out.

Buyers will also receive a 3D transmitter with each purchase of a 3D TV, bringing the total value of freebies to around 500.

The offer is considerably greater than Sony’s previous bundle in April this year, where buyers of Sony 3D TVs received a code to download 3D-compatible PSN games.

Prices of new 3D TVs on the Sony website start from 1,498.99 and rise to 4,499.

3D continues to be a major focus for Sony as we look to raise the experience of home entertainment,” said Sony UK’s senior category marketing manager Christian Brown.

Combine the advanced technology found in all Sony 3D TVs, the PS3 console and the hugely advanced GT5 and you’ve got a gaming experience that is second to none.”

3D-compatible PS3 games include Gran Turismo 5, WipEout HD, MotorStorm Pacific Rift and more. Upcoming Q1 2011 titles include Killzone 3, Motorstorm Apocalypse and the Ico/Shadow of the Collosus Collection.
