UNITE 2010: New in-engine marketplace enjoys successful debut

Unity Asset Store sales hit $5,000 in first day

Unity CEO David Helgason has confirmed that in its first day the Unity Asset Store saw $5,000 of sales.

The new marketplace, which allows Unity users to buy and sell assets, product upgrades and other items from a panel within the game engine UI, was released only yesterday.

Helgason briefly announced the news as he drew to a close tonight’s 2010 Unity Awards at Unite 10.
